On Wed. 6/11 at 2PM and Thurs. 6/12 at 10AM, Sara and Joanie bring you part
3 of our trip around the world. Mediterranean Madness concentrates on
France, Italy, Spain and Portugal. Maybe Greece. We could even do Algeria
and Libya, do they make punk rock? Nous allons vous donner la meilleure
musique.

This humble little website was hacked sometime last week. I’m sure at least some (if not all) of the blame falls on me for failing to keep WordPress, the software that runs the site, up to date.
All of the kudos for preventing more terrible things from happening, and for resurrecting the site, go to Ted, WMBR Webmaster extraordinaire and long-time Tuesday Breakfast of Champions DJ.
We should be back up in full operation sometime soon.
Thanks for your patience!
(Even if this post sounds like an April Fool’s joke, it isn’t, I swear!)
Ballroom Blitzkrieg February 27 and 28
Sara and Joanie continue their look at punk, glam, 60’s and general rock from around the world. This time they’ll concentrate on Germany, Holland, Belgium, Switzerland, that whole general area. Haben Sie Spaß!
Part 1 with Sara on Gorilla Got Me: Wed. Feb. 27, 2-4PM
Part 2 with Joanie on Late Riser’s Club: Thurs. Feb. 28, 10-noon
We have bandwagon jumpers for the Blitzkrieg.
Keith will do an hour of German pop Wed. at 9AM on BOC.
And Jesse will dedicate his “Intercontinental” to that area on Wed. at 6PM.
More Krautrock than you can shake a stick at.
Tune in next week for my last regularly scheduled LRC program. After a bit less than 4 years with LRC, my schedule from the holidays through the Spring Semester will be too complicated to commit to a weekly radio show. So, I’m going to celebrate by indulging myself and airing all my old favorites, and hopefully some clips from live sets and interviews I’ve been involved with over the years.
The Swedes’ Stampede came to WMBR in Cambridge, 88.1 FM, on Wed. Nov. 28 from 2-4 PM and Thurs. Nov. 29 from 10AM-noon. Sara (Josephson) and Joanie (Lindstrom) looked to their homeland and other Nordic countries to bring you the best punk, garage, hardcore and general rocking tunes those countries offer. We had so much Nordic stuff that we’re saving Holland and Belgium for another show.
Playlist for Joanie’s portion of the Swede Stampede (look for part 2 in Spring 2008)
