This week’s 1993 show was the most difficult to plan so far this year. Good music seems to have gone into hiding between 92 and 93, but despite the dozens of bad records I listened to while preparing the show I think it turned out better than I thought it would. There may have been a lot of crap coming out in the early 90s, but at least Boston, DC and Chicago were still holding their own.

Dinosaur Jr. in a commercial-hipster clothing store, sponsored by a Japanese car company, as a “benefit” for a Boston college radio station that behaves kind of like a commercial radio station??? What the heck? …. We all love Dino Jr. and the new record is among the best “reunion” records out there, but I sure am glad that WMBR doesn’t get involved with stuff like this.
