I was going to pick Les Savy Fav for my SOTD for Monday because the record is awesome, but I don’t have to worry about Bobko skipping it. So I’m going with Reverend Beat Man – “Jesus Christ Twist” – from the Surreal Folk Gospel Blues Trash Vol. 1 CD.

Hey Joe (one of the many listeners who I met last Saturday at the Baseball Tavern who at one point gave me crap for not posting playlists regularly…), it turns out that “Methodist Church” is not on that Girls “Live at the Rathskeller” CD (which came out on Abaton Book Company http://www.abatonbookcompany.com a couple of years ago). It is on the vinyl LP (details below) that is probably impossible to find at this point, unfortunately.

Oh, and for what it’s worth, I am still convinced that Bernzy was pretending to not know that Buckner & Garcia did the original “Pac Man Fever” during today’s BOC/LRC crossover. “I think that was a cover…” Riiiiight. Sure, buddy. Does that nerd beard get itchy? I mistakenly thought it was Weird Al.
